Thanksgiving 2014

Hey Friends and Family, Happy Thanksgiving!

As I reflect on the past year, I have many things to be thankful for. I am so blessed first of all to be a child of God. That supersedes everything. I am also thankful for my wonderful wife, Phelecia, who has stood by me "through better and worse". She has been my rock this year. I am also thankful for my kids, Josh and Lauren. They are growing up before my eyes and it is amazing. I am thankful for my dogs, even when they have been bad or barked at the wind. They make life just a little more exciting. I am thankful for our home that I could have never built anywhere else for the price. I am thankful for all my clients this past year and the privilege to walk beside them while going through the house buying process or doing repairs to their home. I am thankful for all of these things that make life worth living.

With that in mind, let me encourage you to make a list of things you are thankful for and share with your family as you celebrate on Thanksgiving. This is a time for all to reflect on what has been bestowed on us and take an inventory on what is truly important to us. It's amazing how things we thought were "sooo important" become trivial once this exercise is done. I hope this helps you have a very thankful day this week.

Remember to be safe when cooking, watch those turkeys taking a dive in the hot oil, watch the little ones closer since so many people will be around talking. It's easy to "lose track" when we are caught up visiting. Watch out for our four legged friends too with all this holiday food lying around, especially the turkey carcass. They can be harmful to our pets.

Finally, when our stomachs are full and the "Turkeynosis" has set in, make sure all appliances are turned off so while your napping and watching football, it isn't interrupted by the smoke alarm going off.
